Title: Mind and Meditation
Description: Everyone faces stress at different levels. Yet, no one at school or job teaches us how to handle STRESS. What if you could use your own breath to control your emotions, feel powerful, strong and happy, whether at school, or work or at home- anytime and anywhere. Isn't that empowering? In this information session, you will:
- discover the power of breath
- understand the nature of the mind
- learn how to use breathing techniques to calm the mind
- experience a breathing technique and a guided meditation
The session will also serve as an introduction to Art of Living's Happiness Program.
Gowri Krishnamurthy has a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from IIT Chennai and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and does research and development in the Lehigh Valley area. She has been involved with the Art of Living for over 12 years and has been teaching breathing and meditation programs for the past 7 years, including programs for the general community, university students and staff, corporate groups, refugee groups and even prison inmates.
Guru Chandramouly has a Doctorate in veterinary medicine from India and a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from Purdue University and does Cancer Research at Temple University School of Medicine. He has been volunteering with Art of Living since 2006 and has taught breathing and meditation programs in the community for past 2 years.
About the Organization: The Art of Living Foundation is a volunteer based, non-profit organization present in over 150 countries. We teach breathing techniques, meditation that helps release stress and deal calmly in the most difficult of situations. In the past 35 years, over 300 million have been touched by our programs.
